Though we’re not quite sure how she got up there, Callie dutifully watches the goings on in our wood shop.

Shown here is a test table leg, clamped to a handmade jig created exclusively for our compound angled, mortise and tenon joined table legs.

Designed to create compound angle table legs with ninety degree tenons, this jig is shown with a table leg clamped to it, in the process of creating the shoulders and tenons.

A special jig was designed and created at the Chairmaker and Friends, to allow for both a compound angled leg and a mortise and tenon joint. These will eventually hold up a rustic table top, secured with vintage nautical turnbuckles.

When our vision of a Great Lakes Map Table didn’t turn out quite the way we expected it, we chose to start from scratch. Luckily, we have backup maps.

This frame has been stripped of its fabric, finish, and all of the interior contents that would make up the seat and back. It’s ready to be reinvented.

As Windsor chairs are being built, Callie is nearby for each step of the process.
